COVID-19 millionaires ‘whistleblower’ Godwins Agutu, and 2 others charged with fraud have been released on Sh100,000 cash bail each. The CEO of Network Action Against Corruption (NAAC) was charged alongside his driver Alex Mutuku and Personal Assistant Ken Kimathi. The accused persons are said to have stormed Hytech Investment Shop along Kombo Munyiri road with the intent to defraud falsely, on September 25. Equity Bank has refunded a customer who on Tuesday lost their life savings under unclear circumstances. Asnael Moturi, aired her grievances through her son only identified as Cerebral Assassin on Twitter. The mother of three lost Sh900,000 a day after registering an Equitel SIM card at Equity Bank, Kisii Branch. She lost her ATM card on Sunday, September 27 and upon seeking help at the bank on Monday, the card was blocked. She reported the matter at Ogembo Police Station. Vincent Mbindo Kathumo, a lecturer in the Department of Land Resource Management and Agriculture Technology (LARMAT) specialising in Soil Science, Remote Sensing and Geo-Information Systems, asked Duncan Kibet for a Sh3,000 bribe over an examination irregularity. A housewife residing in Kitengela was on Tuesday beaten into a pulp by a house agency employee over rent arrears. The woman, Pauline Achieng’ was beaten by an agent for Danco Apartments over what she claimed was some Sh13,000. A special audit by the Auditor General Nancy Gathangu tabled before a Senate committee revealed that the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) management colluded with companies that won the lucrative tenders.
