President Uhuru Kenyatta has on Monday extended the nationwide curfew by another 60 days effective, September 29. Speaking during the National Covid-19 Conference held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), Nairobi, the head of state said the curfew will run from 11 pm to 4 am, daily. Previously, the nationwide curfew started at 9 pm am until 4 am. Sirisia MP John Walukhe has been released on Sh10 million cash bail after being convicted of Sh313 million fraud involving the National Cereals and Produce Board. His business partner, Grace Wakhungu has been freed on Sh20 million cash bail pending the hearing and determination of their appeal. Nakuru town residents woke up to chaotic scenes as matatu operators protested against their eviction from the Central Business District (CBD). Law Society of Kenya (LSK) wants Parliament to be dissolved in 21 days. Addressing reporters on Thursday, LSK president Nelson Havi said both Houses of Parliament will be operating unlawfully from October 12 following Chief Justice David Maraga’s advisory.
