A Nairobi court has declined to issue Gatundu South Moses Kuria anticipatory bail. The embattled lawmaker is afraid he will be rearrested after his release. The controversial legislator has been behind bars for close to 48 hours after a woman identified as Joyce Wanja accused him of assault. A member of the Akasha Organization was on Friday sentenced to 23 years in jail by a U.S court. Ibrahim Akasha was jailed by U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero in Manhattan federal court after pleading guilty to trafficking heroin and methamphetamine among other crimes. Senior Principal Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot has ordered for Kuria’s release until the hearing of his application on Monday at 11am.
