Nyeri deputy governor Caroline Karugu has sued the county government and governor Mutahi Kahiga over non-payment of salary. In her suit filed at the Nyeri Employment and Labour Court, Dr Karugu claimed that she has not received her salary since November 2019. She is entitled to a monthly pay of Ksh.685,250. Widow of Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen has protested the death of one of her dogs in the care of Kenya Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (KSPCA) in Karen. Kenya on Tuesday recorded 704 new Covid-19 infections, bringing the tally 241,134, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said. The cases were from a sample size of 6,776 with a positivity rate of 10.4 per cent. Irate residents of Likuyani, Kakamega county on Tuesday torched a lorry after a pupil was killed. National carrier Kenya Airways (KQ) has reduced weekly flights to New York to two. According to management, the third flight had to be cut due to the reduced number of passengers. 480 people have tested positive for Covid-19, from a sample size of 5,668 tested in the last 24 hours, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said. The positivity rate is now at 8.5%.
