The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) has invited Kenyans to participate in the naming of its new multi-story office block. Through an advertisement in the dailies, the PSC said it had constructed a multi-storey office block that will provide office facilities for members of parliament in the national and senate assembly. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has begun reviewing at least 160 complaints from disgruntled aspirants who were not cleared to contest for the August election. A man has been charged in court with defrauding a pastor. Martin Ochieng’ allegedly defrauded Pastor Eric Mwangi of Joshua Generation Church of Sh400,000 by falsely pretending that he could supply a fabricated container. Ochieng’ allegedly committed the offence on September 15, 2021 in Kilimani, Nairobi. He was arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts where he appeared before Magistrate Jacqueline Ojwang’. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission is set to deploy satellite modems to protect result transmission during the August 9 polls. The commission said that about 1,500 satellite modems, photocopy foolproof ballot papers and firewalls will be used to ensure that the results are not tampered with. The IEBC revealed the plans during a Thursday meeting when it rolled out what it termed as a ‘foolproof’ system ahead of the elections. Police in Kisumu have a arrested a woman connected with a spate of robberies in Nairobi. Elizabeth Akinyi, alias Boss Lady who was among the police most wanted list, was arrested at the National Housing apartments in Kibuye on Thursday. Tecno Mobile, a subsidiary of China-based phone manufacturer Transsion Holdings is set to launch a new mobile wallet service in Kenya to allow people to pay small businesses and shops. Kenyan children are exposed to online predators with a huge percentage of those accessing the internet lacking adequate knowledge to use the internet. Safaricom has suffered a setback on the rollout of its plan to conceal customer details using Lipa na M-Pesa. The giant telco cited technical hitches which have necessitated the delay of the rollout which had been slated for the end of June.
