The 2020 Samsung TVs will soon have Google Assistant alongside Amazon’s Alexa and Samsung’s own Bixby voice assistants. Google assistant was first launched in US TVs last month and will soon be rolled out in 12 other countries including the UK, France, Germany and Italy. The Court of Appeal has suspended bankruptcy proceedings against Jubilee Party secretary general Raphael Tuju over Ksh1.5 billion debt pending the determination of his appeal. Also, the court suspended notices that would have seed East Africa Development Bank (EADB) seize assets owned by Tuju to recover a loan advanced to his company, Dari Limited. “Therefore, unless an order staying the proceedings is granted, Tuju’s appeal will be rendered nugatory,” ruled Justices Hannah OKwengu, Peter Kiage and Agnes Murgor. The password, which is used by about 2.5 million people, takes less than a second to crack, and has been breached about 23 million times. PayPal has launched a new fundraising service named Generosity Network as part of its strategy to expand into financial services. The service allows users to set up a fundraising page on the platform and process payments through its network. The service is similar to what the GoFundMe fundraising page offers. Co-op Bank Group has reported a profit before tax of Ksh13.8 billion for the third quarter of 2020 compared to Ksh15.5 billion recorded in the third quarter of 2019, an 11 percent drop on account of increased Covid-19-related loan toss provisions. Profit after tax was Ksh9.8 billion compared to Ksh10.9 billion in the previous year, a 10 per cent reduction. Whatsapp is working on a feature that will allow users to mute videos before sending them. The feature is already available on other platforms including Instagram and Twitter. This latest development was spotted by WABetaInfo, the site that tracks all Whatsapp developments from the Beta stage. About 200 Facebook moderators have written an open letter to CEO,Mark Zuckerberg, citing unsafe working conditions.
