Airtel Kenya has announced a reduction in data roaming rates by 78% and call rates by 60% for its prepaid and postpaid customers while roaming in Uganda. The reduction is in line with Airtel’s “One Area Network”proposition which is aligned to the East African telecommunication integration. Starting last week, Airtel Kenya customers will browse the internet for as low as Ksh 10 per MB as well as enjoying a rate of Ksh9 per minute down from Ksh23 per minute for calls while roaming in Uganda. Taxi sharing company, Uber is set to launch its low cadre service, UberX in Nairobi. The company has reportedly partnered with restaurant discovery and booking search engine EatOut. The process started in August 2014 and has seen the 2.55 million yuMobile customers successfully integrated into the Airtel network.
