The Employment and Labour Relations Court in Nairobi declared illegal and unconstitutional the decision by the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) to place one of its senior managers on a three-month compulsory leave. A group of rogue boda boda riders attacked and burnt a bus after it was involved in a fatal accident in Salgaa, Nakuru County. The accident left a boda boda rider fatally injured after the bus belonging to Mash Cool hit him on Monday morning, police said. Detectives based at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport seized 4.7 kilos of ketamine drugs that had been disguised as tea and were destined for Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The cargo valued at about Sh3 million had been sent from Kilimani area in Nairobi and packed in packets of Sasin Gold tea when it was intercepted at the customs verification area. An elephant attacked and killed a 35-year-old woman near her residence in Magadi area, Kajiado County. Police and Kenya Wildlife Service officials said Eunice Kuria Mwaura was attacked as she walked from her friend’s house on December 18 at night.
