City lawyer Cecil Miller has threatened to sue social media user Nelson Amenya over a post he claims is defamatory and injurious to his reputation. A tribunal of the government institutions has surcharged a former Permanent Secretary in the former President Mwai Kibaki’s administration Sh150,000 bonus he awarded himself illegally while in office. Detectives are investigating an incident where a minor aged three died after she swallowed a poison in Muili, Tigania, Meru County. The girl was under the care of her elder sister when she stumbled on a bottle containing an ant’s pesticide and swallowed it. Police said the pesticide called Sulban prompted her to start vomiting. Two miners were Monday killed in separate incidents as they ventured into gold mining sites in Siaya County. The first incident happened when a 24-year-old man was killed after a goldmine collapsed in Masumbi village, Kogelo, Siaya County. A man was attacked and killed by a hippopotamus at Lake Nakuru. The incident happened on August 7 in the Bondeni area, police and Kenya Wildlife Service officials said. A second person died after an explosion tore through a Pennsylvania steel plant on Monday, local officials have confirmed.
