A Florida man found guilty of killing a college freshman and raping the victim’s older sister while the two were on a camping trip was executed on Thursday.  The state administered a lethal injection to 57-year-old Loran Cole at Florida State Prison. He was pronounced dead at 18:15 local time (23:15 BST). He was given the death penalty for killing 18-year-old John Edwards in 1994, and was also serving two life sentences for rape. He was booked into Napa County jail in California on Thursday morning. Festivities have begun for the wedding of Norwegian Princess Märtha Louise and her American partner, self-styled shaman Durek Verrett. The government will not compel Kenyans to register for the new Maisha Card and will not tie its acquisition to the next general elections. A former Nevada politician has been found guilty of first degree murder for the death of a journalist who wrote critical stories about his time in office. Robert Telles, 47, has been jailed since 2022 for the stabbing of Las Vegas Review-Journal investigative journalist Jeff German. During trial, prosecutors presented the jury with DNA evidence found under Mr German’s fingernails that they said belonged to Telles – who had pleaded not guilty.
