Acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli was Friday sentenced to six months imprisonment for contempt of court. The war against criminal gangs in Haiti received a boost after two dozen soldiers and police officers from Jamaica arrived in Port-au-Prince to join a U.N.-backed mission led by Kenya to fight powerful criminal gangs. At least six school-going children were Friday September 13 morning killed in a road accident at Wiitu shopping center on the Kitui-Kibwezi road, Kitui County. Officials said the victims included three primary school children and three from secondary school. Tragedy struck a construction site after at least four workers were Friday morning killed when walls of a sewer line they were constructing collapsed in Nairobi’s Shauri Moyo area.  Three others were rescued after the tragedy which happened on Friday at about 5 am, police and other rescuers said.
