A suspected thug was Sunday shot and killed in a botched robbery in Sunton area, Kasarani, Nairobi. The incident happened in Chieko area when police officers on patrol confronted two suspected thugs who were armed with crude weapons. Police said a home made gun was found on the slain suspect. According to police, the two were headed for a robbery mission when they were stopped. They instead tried to escape the scene prompting the shooting that left one suspect dead. Police are holding a 25-year-old woman after she claimed her husband had killed himself through stab wounds in the chest in Machakos Town. The body of Brian Makau, 26 was found on a sofa set long after he had died. The woman told police the deceased succumbed to stab wounds he inflicted on his chest using a kitchen knife. A Form 3 student at Shimbo secondary school in Wundanyi on Saturday drowned while taking a swim at the Kishenyi dam in Taita Taveta. Police said the 17-year-old student had gone to swim in the dam in the company of his fellow students when he drowned. The students had just finished attending their afternoon classes when they decided to go to the dam. The body of the student had not been retrieved from the dam yet by Sunday. Officials are investigating the source of a live bomb that was found on a farm where farmers were tilling in Sipili area, Laikipia County. The discovery was made on March 9 at Wangwachi area, police said. Farmers at a farm reported that there was an explosive device at their land.
