The victim was shot and wounded in the left wrist in the Wednesday night incident. The victim told police he was on his way home when he was confronted by a gang riding on a motorcycle. Detectives are pursuing a gang that raided a petrol station in Mashuru, Kajiado County and robbed an attendant of Sh150,000. The incident happened at Wario Filling Station in Selengei Shopping Centre, police said of the Wednesday night incident. Fish caught from Lake Nakuru is unfit for human consumption, the government announced Wednesday. Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya warned against fishing and consumption of the fish from the lake terming it dangerous. Many locals have at times ventured into the lake for fishing, which may have gotten to the tables of many. Mvurya said recent tests conducted on fish sourced from Lake Nakuru had indicated high levels of arsenic, a chemical compound found in many minerals. Three people died by suicide in separate incidents reported to police. These are the latest incidents to happen in the country amid calls to address the menace. Police said the first incident happened when a 40 year-old man died by suicide in Kamae location within Kiambu County. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Moscow of “playing with the lives of Ukrainian prisoners”, after a deadly plane crash in western Russia. He demanded an international inquiry after Wednesday’s crash in the Belgorod region near Ukraine’s border. At least two suspected thugs were Wednesday shot feed by police in a confrontation in Ngoingwa area, Thika, Kiambu County.  Police said the gang had earlier terrorized locals robbing them of valuables when an alarm was raised. The Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) has faulted county executives and county assemblies for poor record-keeping practices. This follows several corruption risk assessments done by the anti-graft body in various counties, discovering a poor state of records management. In a circular to governors and speakers of county assemblies, EACC termed the state of affairs as impediments to effective and efficient service delivery, which creates loopholes for corruption. Among the issues noted by EACC include a lack of record management policies and procedure manuals to guide and assign responsibilities for the management of records across all the institutional functions. The High Court in Eldoret ordered the polls body to degazette the names of 13 Members of County Assembly (MCAs) who had been nominated by UDA party to the Uasin Gishu County Assembly. At least 14 police officers were Monday night injured in an accident involving two police cars in Garissa Town. The accident happened after the vehicles collided head-on along Garissa-Jibril Road within the Garissa University area. A three-year-old was killed in a fire incident in a village in Nyamira. The incident happened in Kiabira village and affected a semi-permanent house, police said. Police established that the cause of the fire was a result of a candle the owner of the house lit and placed near the bed and left to attend a burial ceremony. The owner left two juveniles aged three and one year respectively sleeping. The candle dropped and lit the fire killing one of the children, police said. Police are investigating claims that unknown thieves broke into an office of a school in Tharaka Nithi and stole Sh200,000. The principal of Kiaritha Secondary School reported that his office was broken into and the money stolen from therein. But a team of police officers who visited the scene established that the robbers gained entry to the said office by opening but not breaking it. No recovery or arrest was made.
