The developer of a nine-storey building that collapsed in Mirema, Roysambu Constituency was wanted for illegalities, Acting County Secretary Patrick Analo has said. In a statement Tuesday, Analo said the developer who has since been identified as Joseph Wakiri had in the past resisted arrest attempts. The Data Protection Commissioner has issued three penalty notices totaling Sh9,375,000 to three data controllers. In a statement on Tuesday, the commissioner Immaculate Kassait said the three entities; Mulla Pride, Casa Vera Lounge and Roma School, failed to observe Data Privacy Rights and not complying with the Data Protection Act. A ten-storey building in Mirema, Roysambu Constituency collapsed due to “poor structural concrete”, the National Construction Authority (NCA) has said. In a statement on Tuesday, NCA Executive Director Maurice Aketch said the building damaged an adjacent building, a parked vehicle and infrastructure belonging to Kenya Power and Lighting Company. Multi agency teams are questioning two people who were found with explosive-making materials along the Isiolo-Moyale highway. The team manning a roadblock at Merti junction along the Moyale-Isiolo highway seized explosives and arrested the two suspects on Monday. Police said the vehicle they were traveling in which was intercepted was enroute to Kom in Isiolo. Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu Monday unveiled a new grading structure that will be implemented in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
