Actor and rapper Nashawn Breedlove, known for taking on Eminem in a rap battle in the film 8 Mile, has died aged 46. Breedlove played the formidable opponent Lotto in the 2002 film, loosely based on rapper Eminem’s life, and appeared on the soundtrack for the 2001 film The Wash. Donald Trump “repeatedly” misrepresented his wealth by hundreds of millions of dollars to banks and insurers, a New York judge has ruled. The decision resolves the key claim made by New York’s attorney general in her civil lawsuit against the former president. “The documents here clearly contain fraudulent valuations that defendants used in business,” the judge wrote. Main suspect in the murder probe of Nairobi Hospital Acting Finance Director Eric Maigo was Tuesday night arrested. Police said Anne Adhiambo Akinyi alias Nut who has been on the run since last week Thursday, was arrested in Kibera slums, Nairobi in an intelligence-led operation by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives. Twelve employees linked to the disappearance of Sh160 million from National Intelligence Services’ (NIS) Njiwa Sacco were Monday presented at the Kahawa Law Court. The prosecution presented a 57 page charge sheet with 232 charges against the accused. The charges range from abuse of office, conspiracy to defraud, stealing by servant forgery among others. The developer of a nine-storey building that collapsed in Mirema, Roysambu Constituency was wanted for illegalities, Acting County Secretary Patrick Analo has said. In a statement Tuesday, Analo said the developer who has since been identified as Joseph Wakiri had in the past resisted arrest attempts. Wakiri who was arrested and arraigned in a Nairobi court has been released on a Sh500,000 cash bail. He is, however, being detained at Nairobi West remand prison. The Data Protection Commissioner has issued three penalty notices totaling Sh9,375,000 to three data controllers. In a statement on Tuesday, the commissioner Immaculate Kassait said the three entities; Mulla Pride, Casa Vera Lounge and Roma School, failed to observe Data Privacy Rights and not complying with the Data Protection Act. Mulla Pride which operates KeCredit and Faircash mobile lending Apps has been penalized Sh2,975,000 for sending threatening messages and phone calls to consumers. The Central Rift Valley Water Works CEO Samuel Oruma was Tuesday sent on leave to allow probe into alleged irregular procurement in Sh1.7 billion Longisa-Mulot water project in Bomet. A ten-storey building in Mirema, Roysambu Constituency collapsed due to “poor structural concrete”, the National Construction Authority (NCA) has said. In a statement on Tuesday, NCA Executive Director Maurice Aketch said the building damaged an adjacent building, a parked vehicle and infrastructure belonging to Kenya Power and Lighting Company. Aketch, however, confirmed that the Sunday night incident did not lead to any fatalities. The property, he said, was supposed to be a 12-storey building. Multi agency teams are questioning two people who were found with explosive-making materials along the Isiolo-Moyale highway. The team manning a roadblock at Merti junction along the Moyale-Isiolo highway seized explosives and arrested the two suspects on Monday. Police said the vehicle they were traveling in which was intercepted was enroute to Kom in Isiolo. It is not clear what they wanted the materials for but they said they were taking to a gold mine site. Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu Monday unveiled a new grading structure that will be implemented in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). Only two mandatory subjects, Mathematics and one language (English, Kiswahili, or Kenyan Sign Language), will be used to compute the mean grade, part of the structure says. “Previously there were five mandatory subjects across three cluster groups – Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, two sciences and one humanity,” said Machogu.
