A suspect who stabbed and killed a policewoman in her house in Umasaini area, Mashruu, Kajiado County was arrested hours later in Nairobi. The suspect was arrested in Mathare slums where he was hiding hours after he had escaped from the scene of crime. Locals in the slum saw him and alerted police on Thursday before they arrested him, Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said. The Law Society of Kenya wants the Inspector General of Police to provide information regarding the arrest status of those who allegedly breached the law during anti government demos. Two police officers were arrested Wednesday over a robbery case with violence in which victims lost Sh500,000 in Juja, Kiambu County. Kenyan authorities have singled out the forgery of travel documents as the country’s biggest cross-border security concern. In the past year, fake passports and identification documents accounted for 40 percent of the crimes apprehended at the border points in Suam, Malaba and Busia. At least 60 terrorists involved in Tuesday’s Lamu attack have been killed, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki announced Wednesday.
