At least three drug mules were arrested and 25 sacks of bhang were recovered in a police operation in Ngara area, Nairobi. The raid was staged Tuesday morning by a team of officers from a transnational organized crime unit that raided a store at Kariowa slums Ngara area owned by a known drug trafficker. Transport company, Easy Coach, has lifted a ban on the transportation of fish on its buses. The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has clarified that the government has not reinstated fuel subsidies. EPRA director general Daniel Kiptoo on Tuesday said the government has instead reverted to fuel stabilization through the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL). This then means that for every litre of petrol a motorist purchases, a fraction goes to the PDL for stabilization. Four men were on Monday night killed by unknown assailants in a village in Gatundu North, Kiambu County. Police said the incident happened in Gacugi village in Ngorongo. The four according to residents and police were on their way home at around 9 pm when they were attacked, killed, and left by the roadside. E-mobility company,  BasiGo announced the introduction of the “E9 Kubwa”, a 36-seater electric bus custom designed for the Kenyan market’. Detectives are investigating the discovery of a body of a man in a thicker in a village in Lamu County. The incident happened in Kanganja village within Mkunumbi location, police said. The body of John Mundia, 35, was found lying dead by the roadside with visible injuries on the abdomen and a deep cut on the head. Gunmen raided a supermarket in Adungosi, Busia County and shot dead two people in a bizarre incident. The victims include the owner of the premise and a bodaboda rider, police said. The gang of three went to New Life Self-Service Mini Supermarket and demanded cash and other valuables at Ojamil shopping center. Telco company Safaricom announced that it will be increasing M-PESA account limits to Sh500,000 following approval from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK). The higher account limit will be effective from Tuesday, August 15, 2023, for all M-PESA customers. The increase in account limits is a major boost for M-PESA customers, especially small businesses. At least one woman was Monday killed and three other people were injured in a gas cylinder explosion in Eastleigh, Nairobi. The middle aged woman was hit by an object as she escaped from the scene of the explosion at about 4pm, police said. Three other people were rushed to the hospital with multiple injuries following the explosion. Police said they are investigating the incident and urged the public not to speculate. Kenya and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will see the United Nations agency support the rollout of the planned digital identity. Office of Data Protection says the processing of personal data by the Worldcoin project does not follow the guidelines for data protection as outlined in section 25 of the Act.
