A businessman Kelvin Onyango Otieno was Monday charged with making a document purporting to be genuinely issued by the ministry of mining. The document in question is a mining license said to have been issued to cargo care freight forwarders. Televangelist David Ngari alias Gakuyo was Monday charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and 12 counts of obtaining money by false pretence.  He denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi. Gakuyo who is charged alongside Ekeza Sacco is said to have between 2015 and 2018, conspired to steal Sh1,052, 746.094 from the sacco members. A court Friday detained a swimming pool attendant for seven days pending investigations into a case of negligence of official duty. Sentenced prisoners have a right to attend burials of close family members unless there are compelling reasons for declining such permission, the High court declared Friday. Justice Lawrence Mugambi said all sentenced prisoners and pretrial detainess held in custody have right to be treated humanely.
