The State has reopened the 2007-2008 Post Election Violence (PEV) cases after victims alleged receiving new threats. Speaking on Monday after presiding over an event held for the victims to record statements in Nairobi, Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti said police will do their part to ensure perpetrators are brought to book. “We are going to the field and soon you are going to see action from us, ” he said adding that the cases will be handled by Kenyan courts. The Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) has warned members of the public against falling for fake appointment letters purporting to place successful applicants in previously-advertised Community Scout jobs. In a statement on Monday, KWS urged individuals who applied for the jobs to be patient as issuance of letters of appointments had not begun. “We wish to clarify that all applications received for these posts are still being processed, ” the statements reads. Africa Merchant Assurance Company (Amaco), an insurance company associated with Deputy President William Ruto, is in trouble after the High Court sanctioned its closure over failure to pay Ksh10 million debt. Justice Margaret Muigai ordered the liquidation of the company after it failed to pay the amount owed to six people following a lengthy court battle. The National Advisory Council of the Kenya Union of Clinical Officers (KUCO) has issued a 14-day strike notice over poor working conditions at workplaces amid the coronavirus pandemic. In a statement on Sunday, the union cited lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) as one of the main challenges the healthcare workers are currently facing. All in-person court operations and services at Meru Law Courts have been suspended for two weeks over coronavirus fears. In a memo issued on Sunday, Chief Justice David Maraga indicated that staff at the courts, advocates and their staffers tested positive for the virus prompting the decision. Police in Nairobi on Saturday night arrested 44 teenagers who were partying in one of the houses at Mountain View Estate and seized various brands of whisky and vodka and bhang (cannabis Sativa). Two police officers have been arrested for allegedly impersonating officials from National Environment Management Authority of Kenya (NEMA) and Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA). The Registrar of Political Parties has approved the dismissal of Ekuru Aukot as party leader of Thirdway Alliance Kenya. Langata Police Station OCS George Kabii is dead. Kabii passed away on Thursday morning at the Langata Hospital where he was receiving treatment. Reports indicate that the police boss was rushed to the hospital on Monday, November 16, 2020, after developing breathing complications in suspected Covid-19 infection.
