The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has dismissed claims that investigations into the corruption scandal at the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) stalled. Police in Mombasa are holding five teenagers linked to a spate of robberies in the affluent Nyali suburb. Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) rounded up the gang after saving one of the gang members from a rowdy mob that almost lynched him. A 22-year-old woman has been arrested in Tinderet, Nandi County, over suspected dealings with terrorist group Al-Shabaab. Police in Kirinyaga County have arrested 14 students over a fire incident reported at Kamuiru Boys High School last night. The fire gutted a dormitory in the school in a suspected arson incident. No student was hurt as the boys were in night preps when the fire broke out. Nothing was, however, salvaged from the dormitory. Three terror convicts, who were recently arrested after escaping from Kamiti Maximum Security Prison, have admitted to the offense. The trio, Musharraf Abdalla Akhulunga alia Zarkarawi, Mohammed Ali Abikar and Joseph Juma Odhiambo alias Yusuf, however, denied the charge of committing a terror act.
