Two explosions have been reported in Uganda’s capital Kampala. The Daily Monitor reports that one of the bombings happened near Jubilee Insurance along Parliamentary Avenue. Another explosion was reported at Kooki towers, opposite Central Police Station. According to the Ugandan publication, scores were injured in the incidents. In photos and videos shared on social media, a number of cars are seen burning following the explosions. Four police officers have been found guilty of manslaughter in the death of Alexander Monson. The son of British aristocrat Lord Nicholas Monson was found dead in a police cell in Diani, Mombasa, in May 2012. The suspects arrested on Monday include three officers from the county government and three suppliers. Police in Laikipia County have launched investigations after a colleague allegedly took his own life at his home in Karandi area on Sunday night. Reports indicate that Daniel Kibbara shot himself on the head with a pistol at around 11pm. Four people died and eight others seriously injured after a grisly road accident in the Maltauro area on the Narok-Mai Mahiu highway, Narok County on Sunday evening. The deceased include three men and a woman. The crash involved a Toyota Wish car traveling from Kisii towards Mai Mahiu and a Crested Galaxy matatu that was heading to Narok from Nairobi. The High Court in Kitui has slapped a man with a life sentence after unsuccessfully appealing a 45-year jail term handed in January 2020. Jacob Mutunga failed to convince the court to set aside the sentence in a defilement case lodged in 2018. A Kitui Magistrate Court had found him guilty of defiling a 10-year-old girl on September 9, 2018, at 3pm in Thua location. Two Ugandan soldiers have been sentenced to death for killing two civilians in Somalia. Three others were each sentenced to 39 years in prison. The soldiers are accused of the killings during a fight between AMISOM forces and Al-Shabaab militants along the Beldamin-Golweyn Forward Operating Base in the Lower Shabelle region on August 10, 2021. A Nakuru resident has moved to court seeking the introduction of the “none of the above” option on ballot papers. The petitioner, Boniface Mwai, filed the case at the Nakuru High Court on Friday, November 12.
