Two suspected robbers were killed by an angry mob yesterday after abducting an elderly woman before stealing Sh350,000 from her in Mua Hills, Machakos County. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Jackson Mulinge Mueke and Augustus Nzioka Ndeto, were part of a three-man gang that had trailed Veronica Kwanza Kiilu, from a bank in Machakos town. Detectives based in Kiambu have arrested a woman accused of defrauding members of public seeking government services. Veronica Wanjiru Kamondo is accused of generating fake birth and death certificates. She was arrested by immigration and citizen services detectives in Kiambu town. Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has dismissed as a non-issue closure of a primary school in Nyandarua County over a Covid-19 threat. Security Consultant Mwenda Mbijiwe has been reported missing. According to Mbijiwe’s sister, Tamara Mbijiwe, the former Kenya Airforce officer vanished on Saturday, June 12. Police in Nairobi are holding a Chinese national over suspected criminal activities. According to police reports, Dang Pengfei was arrested by a multi-agency team on Friday, June 11, 2021, on the Mwingi-Garissa road at Kanyonyo where he was found in possession of one pistol. Police have launched a hunt for a gang of four that shot and badly injured a businessman before making away with goods worth Sh110,00 from his Wines and Spirits shop in Imenti, Meru County. Police reports indicate that the robbery happened on Tuesday night. The businessman identified as Eugene Kiogora aged 50 was shot thrice and sustained serious injuries. Uhuru Primary located in Nyandarua county has been closed after cases of Covid-19 were confirmed. Kahawa Tungu understands that eight pupils from the school tested positive for the disease after recent tests. Nyandarua County Health Executive John Mungai said the school is the first learning institution to record Covid-19 cases in the region.
