The Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) is probing properties of three former governors and a sitting county boss worth Sh11.5 billion believed to have been acquired illegally. This was revealed on Tuesday by EACC Chairman Eliud Wabukala when he appeared before the Senate Justice and Legal Affairs Committee. The four politicians are Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal and former country chiefs Mike Sonko (Nairobi), Ferdinand Waititu (Kiambu) and Evans Kidero (Nairobi). Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has announced postponement of the Form One selection exercise that was scheduled to begin on May 28. Justice Musinga, who is the Judiciary’s Committee on Elections Chairperson, will replace Justice William Ouko who was sworn in as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya on Friday. The Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) has issued new orders to bread manufacturers after a recent probe revealed non-compliance to provisions of the Competition Act and other relevant Standards. In a statement released on Monday morning, CAK revealed that some manufactures were misleading consumers. CAK revealed that some of the bakers were not providing the manufacturing date/month on their bread wrappers in the prescribed format while others were printing them illegibly on the seals. Kenya’s Covid-19 positivity rate has dropped to 7.4 percent from 9.9 percent announced on Saturday. In a statement to newsrooms on Sunday, the Ministry of Health announced 324 new cases from a sample size of 4,392 tested in the last 24 hours. Total confirmed positive cases are now 168,432 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,781,426. Police have arrested a 26-year-old man linked to the killing of a 15-year-old boy at Rae village in Kolwa central location in Kisumu East sub-county. The boda boda rider is alleged to have fatally stabbed the boy on Sunday morning.
