The Kenya Red Cross has denied reports that patients were injured in an accident involving an ambulance operated by its affiliate Emergency Plus Ambulance Services. The accident occurred yesterday evening in Kabarnet, Baringo county, with the driver of the vehicle said to have been drunk. The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced traffic disruptions on the busy Uhuru High Way between Bunyala and Nyayo Stadium roundabouts that will last for 20 days. A General Service Unit (GSU) officer attached to Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and his wife died of excess bleeding following a murder-suicide incident, an autopsy report has revealed. Officer Hudson Wasike is said to have shot his wife, Pauline Wakasa, who was a traffic officer attached to Kilimani Police Station, on Tuesday at around 5 pm following a domestic squabble. Police in Homa Bay County are holding a 32-year-old teacher linked to ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination irregularities in the Nyanza region. The family of the late Benga musician Albert Gacheru has suffered a double tragedy after losing another member three days after the death of the artiste. Gacheru’s brother Basilio Ngunjiri died on Thursday in Nyandarus after a short illness, his family has confirmed. The Ministry of Health has formed an Oxygen Taskforce to help address an acute shortage of the gas amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has moved to court seeking orders to quash a directive issued by the Ministry of Health banning private importation and distribution of Covid-19 vaccines. Sittings at the Nairobi County Assembly have been suspended indefinitely following a spike in Covid-19 cases as the third wave of the virus continues to ravage the country.
