A Kisumu court has recommended that the Directorate of Criminal Investigation take action against four police commanders in charge of the Nyalenda operation that led to the death of Samantha Pendo.

The five include former Kisumu County Commander Titus Yoma and four other officers.

According to Resident Magistrate Beryl Omollo, evidence produced in court overwhelmingly indicts police for the death of the minor.

The court also advocates action be taken against a platoon of 30 GSU officers deployed to Nyalenda operation led by their commander Nzioka Mutune.

The six-month-old died died in August 2017 after the General Elections.

Its reported that anti-riot police officers stormed at her parents’ house in Nyalenda slums wher they hit her with a blunt object, injuring her severely.

A Post-mortem exercise carried out at Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu showed that the minor suffered an open cracked scalp with deep head injuries in the attack.
