Chynna Phillips was born on February 12, 1968, in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of singer-songwriters John and Michelle Phillips, who were members of The Mamas & the Papas.
Growing up, Phillips was surrounded by music and became close friends with Carnie and Wendy Wilson, the daughters of Beach Boys musician Brian Wilson.
