Citizen TV reporter Kimani Mbugua was assaulted by county Askaris after witnessing the brutal arrest of a Bodaboda rider in the CBD which is forbidden.
According to the journalist, he was assaulted for taking the video of the Askaris arresting the rider from a moving motorcycle which to him seemed dangerous.
Mbugua said that he was dragged to the Fire station headquarters where he was brutally beaten by the askaris leading to injuries on his head.
They then confiscated his phone and deleted the video. The journalist however managed to save an audio of the assault.

The Askaris could be heard threatening Mbugua and also saying that they had been sent to do the job they were doing.
