    Decomposed body of woman found in arrested suspect’s house in Kiambu

    The decomposed body of a middle-aged woman was found in a house belonging to a suspect who had been arrested for jumping bail in Kibiku area, Kiambu County.

    The suspect had been arrested on Wednesday morning over a matter pending in court when he asked his cousin to go to his house and fetch for him some documents that he needed on the case.

    According to the police, the cousin went to the house but was taken aback by a foul smell that was emanating from the bedroom.

    He checked and found a naked body of a woman lying on bed and decomposed.

    Police were called to the scene and said the body had visible bruises and wounds on the face and upper limbs with blood oozing from the mouth, nostrils, and private parts, an indication that she may have been subjected to a severe beating prior to being left in the house.

    The body was already emanating a foul smell, suggesting that she had been in that state for more than two days.

    The suspect who is already in custody will be freshly charged with murder and remains in custody, police said on Thursday after moving the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and identification.

    The motive of the murder was not immediately known.

    In Juja, Kiambu County, one Samson Musyimi who is a lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) medical department was found dead in his house.

    A friend who had not seen him for days went to check on him and found the house he lived locked from inside.

    He was not responding to calls and texts.

    Police were called to the scene and forced the door open where they found the deceased lying dead on his bed with no visible physical injuries.

    It was established that the deceased was a lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) medical department and was diagnosed with liver problems last year.

    Several medicines were recovered in his house including those for hypertension and diabetes, police said.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
