Elena has a sister named Anna Rybakina, who is a significant source of support for her.

Although Anna did not pursue a professional tennis career, she has a strong bond with Elena and is often seen supporting her at matches.

Anna is known for her enthusiastic and emotional reactions while watching Elena play.

    Career

Rybakina’s professional tennis career has been a journey of rapid ascent, marked by powerful performances and significant achievements that have solidified her place among the elite players in the sport.

Her decision to switch her federation from Russia to Kazakhstan in 2018 proved pivotal, providing her with the resources and opportunities needed to fully develop her potential.

Rybakina’s breakthrough moment arrived in 2022 when she triumphed at Wimbledon, defeating Ons Jabeur in the final.

This victory not only earned her a Grand Slam title but also made her the first player representing Kazakhstan to achieve such a feat.

While the WTA controversially didn’t award ranking points for Wimbledon that year, her win still resonated deeply and showcased her ability to perform under immense pressure.

Building on that success, Rybakina continued her strong form into 2023, reaching the final of the Australian Open.

Although she lost to Aryna Sabalenka in a tight three-set match, her performance propelled her into the top 10 of the WTA rankings for the first time, a historic achievement for Kazakhstani tennis.

She then captured her first WTA 1000 title at the Indian Wells Open, defeating top players along the way.

Rybakina further demonstrated her prowess on clay by winning the Italian Open in Rome, another WTA 1000 event, showcasing her versatility across different court surfaces.

The 2024 season has seen Rybakina maintain her position as a top contender.

She started the year strongly with three WTA 500 titles in Brisbane, Abu Dhabi, and Stuttgart. These victories underscore her consistency and ability to compete at the highest level week after week.

Rybakina’s aggressive playing style is central to her success.

Her powerful serve, often clocking over 120 mph, is a major weapon that allows her to dictate play from the start.

She complements her serve with strong groundstrokes, particularly her two-handed backhand, which she uses effectively to control rallies and hit winners.

Beyond her Grand Slam and WTA 1000 titles, Rybakina has also demonstrated her capabilities in other prestigious tournaments.

She reached the finals of the Miami Open in both 2023 and 2024, further solidifying her reputation as a top player on hard courts.

Additionally, her semifinal appearance at the Tokyo Olympics showcased her ability to perform well in major international competitions.

Rybakina has won two WTA 1000 titles at the 2023 Indian Wells Open and the 2023 Italian Open. She won three WTA 500 titles in the first four months of 2024, with victories in Brisbane, Abu Dhabi, and Stuttgart.
