A voice recording said to be of Walter Menya and another person has emerged this evening.
In the recording, a voice said to be of the Nation Media journalists demanding Ksh 50,000 and a minimum of Ksh 40,000 to have a story in the headline is heard speaking to unidentified individual suspected to be the Kennedy Koros mentioned in the court papers.

While we cannot independently verify the details, the recordings might be the reason why CID is so determined to have Walter Menya spend an extra night behind bars. The journalist has been remanded until tomorrow when a ruling will be made on his bail application.
