Traders woke up to find their properties destroyed by a nighttime fire in Gikomba market. Stalls were razed down and some buildings burnt during the incident.

The fire is said to have started at 3 AM but traders say that fire respondents arrived at the location at 5 AM.

They were able to contain the fire and save some of the stalls, even though smoke can still be seen emanating from the area.
