    Girl Behind Moi Girls Fire Charged With 9 Counts Of Murder, To Be Freed On Bail

    Moi GirlsMoi Girls student believed to be behind the 2 September fire that caused the death of 9 girls is facing 9 counts of murder.

    The minor denied all the charges before High Court Judge Luka Kimaru in camera proceedings.

    The Judge directed that the girl’s lawyers and her parents appear before him on Friday to determine whether she will have deposited a Shs. 200,000 bail and met conditions set to secure her release.

    The girl is said to have caused the untimely deaths of Esther Neema, Nancy Wamuthuri Thuku, Hanna Jeyso Timado, Hawa Haziz, Mary Njengo Mokaya, Alakiir Malong, Natalie Asiko, Whitney Kerubo and Marcia Okello who were identified through DNA tests on Tuesday.

    Her parents had earlier on in the week said that their daughter had been framed.

    The form one student was said to have planned the fire through a Whatsapp group together with four other girls.
