Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr has opened up on an alleged head-butting incident involving him and goalkeepers trainer Willis Ochieng’ at Mombasa’s Mbaraki Stadium last week.

According to eye witness accounts, the Englishman head-butted the ex-Kenya international thrice in the heat of the moment at the touchline after conceding the second goal against Bandari FC last Tuesday.

K’Ogalo lost the match 2-1, ending their 22-match unbeaten run.

Speaking exclusively to Kahawa Tungu, the Malta-born said that football is about emotions and sometimes “things happen” but they have moved on.

The former Tanzania’s Simba coach added that he was not “happy” with what happened.

“Football is all about emotions and sometimes things happen, it’s gone now – it happened – finished and now we move on.

Football is very emotional at times and people say things and react differently and I’m not happy with what happened but we have dealt with it moved forward, its history now,” Kerr said.

KPL management has however said that no such incident was reported to them; “We have not received such a report from our match representatives,” the CEO, Jack Oguda, said.

The two reconciled following a meeting of the technical committee and members of the technical bench and they worked together in Friday’s 2-1 win against Posta Rangers in Kisumu.

“There was a misunderstanding between some members of the technical stuff which led to what happened in Mbaraki.

All parties involved have apologized to each other, to the team, to the club’s management, to all stakeholders and to Gor Mahia fan base at large,” Lordvick Aduda, the Gor’s CEO told the club’s website after the meeting.
