Wasafi Records signee, Harmonize was forced to apologize to fans in Eldoret after he failed to perform due to lack of payment from the promoters of the Chaget Festival.

Fans were left disappointed after they paid for tickets but the main performer failed to show up.

The event led to chaos as fans started throwing objects while demanding for Harmonize to perform. This incident led to tents and chairs and other properties destroyed during the chaos.

The ‘Kwangwaru’ hit maker faulted the promoters for failing to keep the end of their bargain which was giving him the remaining amount for his performance.

“Kilichonisikitisha ni promoters kuchukua pesa za watu wasio pungua 4000k then wakashindwa kuja kumalizia payment iliyobaki na kukimbia hii inaumiza sana…” he said.

The event organizer, Shado Event Initiative CEO Douglas Obobe Maini was arrested for failing to pay the artist, hence leading to the chaos at the festival.

“We have arrested the organizer and owner of Shado Events Douglas Obobe Maina who is assisting us in carrying out the investigations. My officers dispelled the angry crowds who destroyed tents, plastic chairs and later on, blocked the Eldoret-Kapsabet road as they burnt tyres,” Eldoret South Police boss Wilson Abduba confirmed.

Harmonize was left stranded at Starbucks Hotel for hours over unpaid bills, but was later allowed to check out after his Kenyan counterparts came to his rescue.
