    Two IEBC Officials Caught Tampering With Ballot Boxes, Embakasi

    iebcTwo IEBC officials have been arrested in Embakasi while breaking into a store where ballot boxes had been stashed.

    They are said to have broken the seals of 16 ballot boxes containing presidential results and were trying to alter the results.

    The duo told the security officers that they had been sent by IEBC officials to collect some information for the Presidential petition that had just been filed in court by NASA.

    The officials did not have on them a court order granting their access into the premises.

    It took the intervention of the public to call out the two officials who witnesses said had already altered some documents.

    The two were arrested and detained by DCI officials. the ballot boxes were confiscated by the police.

    IEBC through its official Twitter handle has denied the claims saying ‘it was false and a misrepresentation of facts.’

    Over 85 people have so far been arrested for committing election related offenses.
