    iPad 2 Now Officially Available in South Africa

    Last year, SA got the chance to experience the iPad 1 almost two months to the release of the iPad 2 internationally. The situation has changed and now the iPad 2 is set to arrive in South Africa on Friday. The Apple Press release say that 8 countries would see the launch of the iPad 2 in their locations. The other countries where the launch will occur on 28th and 29th April are Hong Kong, India, Israel, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Turkey and UAE.

    Core, the Apple’s official distributor in SA has listed the pricing as follows;

    iPad 2 32GB WI-FI R5,399 (Ksh 67,118)
    iPad 2 64GB WI-FI R6,399 (Ksh 79,550)
    iPad 2 16GB 3G R5,599 (Ksh 69,605)
    iPad 2 32GB 3G R6,599 (Ksh 82,034)
    iPad 2 64GB 3G R7,599 (Ksh 94,468)

    The iPad 2 will be available in SA at iStore, Incredible Connections and Dion Wired Stores. It is not clear when we will get it in Kenya though Apple was sometime back looking for premium resellers in Kenya.
