There is a ploy to apparently replace the current Health CS, Cleopa Mailu.
It is according to The Star between some office of the President operatives and Kamba leaders with the intent of replacing him with a stronger character.
The Kamba leaders feel that there are stronger leaders from the region who delivered twice as many votes for the president than the CS. They want him replaced with someone of a ‘higher political clout.’
The leaders say that they want someone who can work closely with Deputy President William Ruto as he prepares to run for the presidency in 2022.
They claim that the relationship between the two seems forced.

The leaders apparently feel that the CS focuses more at ‘showing people who is boss rather than working with others to sell the party agenda.’
They further said that the Afya House scandal embarrassed the Head of State and instead of shielding the President, Mailu was aiming at getting his Principal Secretary fired.
Other CSs whose lifelines hang in the balance are Kazungu Kambi, Raychelle Omamo and Judi Wakhungu who are said to have kept off the campaign trail.
The president is said to be thinking of a reshuffle and might even increase it to 22 should the Supreme Court uphold his win.
