Some of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation’s (KBC) staff who are members of the Commission Workers Union (COWU) on Wednesday held demonstrations outside their place of work on Harry Thuku Road in Nairobi.

The protest was caused by what the union termed as a delay in signing the CBA which was negotiated in the month of July 2017.

”The signing of the CBA was stalled by ongoing deliberations with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC),” Waithaka Waihenya, the managing director said in a statement.

The workers have also cited poor working conditions as another reason that caused the strike.

SRC has however asked the union to wait until the end of the week for their final advice on the matter.
