A community of active Citizens that seeks to use petitions to defend life, family and religious freedom through online petitions on Friday delivered over 100,000 signatures
to the Pakistan Ambassador in Nairobi.
CitizenGO is seeking to push Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to have Asia Bibi, a Christian woman who was acquitted on charges of blasphemy by Pakistan’s Supreme Court on the October 31 released to a safer country.
Bibi was sentenced in 2010 after she was accused of defiling the name of the Prophet Muhammad during an argument a year earlier with Muslim women over drinking water.
Since her acquittal the mother of five has been living in an undisclosed location with a section of Muslims protesting against the ruling. They attacked the judges, media, army and all those who dared defend her. They also called for her hanging.
CitizenGO has since her incarceration been funding her legal proceedings and now want to make sure she leaves the highly volatile Pakistan to a country where her safety is assured.
