Kiharu MP and Murang’a senatorial candidate on a Jubilee party ticket, Irungu Kang’ata has urged bar owners to close the bars on the eve of the elections.
According to the lawmaker, politicians have in the past used alcohol to keep the youths from casting their ballots.
Mr Irungu said closing the bars would mean a high voter turn out in the Jubilee party stronghold.

He urged the security agencies to be on the look out for politicians buying alcohol for the youth.
Kang’ata also cleared the air on claims that his campaigns were being funded by Governor Mwangi wa Iria saying that the allegations were unfounded.
The incumbent governor and Senator Kembi Gitura have been said to have bad blood hence Mwangi trying to oust him.
He was speaking at Kariara ward during a tournament he had organized.
