Jubilee Party officials Friday said the party’s support of Fred Matiangi for presidency was solid and genuine.

Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni also said they were aware of a plot by the government to fabricate charges against the former Interior CS and paint him as a criminal. .

“But let none mistaken this, Kenyans are willing to elect him whether he would in jail or not. Nobody body is going to stay the tide, Kenyans are decided already,” he said.

Kioni who was speaking during a delegates meeting in Keumbu, Kisii.

Matiangi, he said, has strong political credentials and potential to liberate the country from the shackles of graft and doom

“Today we have come to Kisii as testament that we hold Matiangi in high esteem and we are deliberate in supporting him,” stated Kioni.

Mount Kenya, he said, already plans to abandon the President William Ruto led Kenya Kwanza coalition in favor of Matiangi.

He said the country requires a person conscious of what entails to run a country.

“The mess we are in as a country is because we easily bought into politics of deceit,” Kioni told journalists.

Kioni said Matiangi’s political star continues to glow giving him the much needed upper hand needed in defeating William Ruto during the 2027 presidential poll.

Ruto would be defending the seat for the second term.

He has in the past week been pitching tent in Central Kenya woing the region back after sacking his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua.

Kioni described the visit by Ruto as inconsequential and that it would bear Ruto little.

“The people there have made up their mind. The candidature of Matiang’i is attracting a lot of approval from every Kenyan of goodwill,” Kioni stated.

Matiangi is expected back in the country any time from next month with preparations are afoot to host him at Gusii Stadium during his homecoming.
