    Siblings

Ludvig has one known sibling, an older sister named Linnea Åberg.

However, details about Linnea are limited, as Ludvig maintains a private personal life, keeping the focus on his professional achievements.

Born to parents Mia and Johan Åberg in Eslöv, Sweden, Ludvig and Linnea grew up in a close-knit family that nurtured Ludvig’s early interest in sports.

While Ludvig initially leaned toward soccer, his shift to golf at age 13 marked the beginning of his extraordinary career, with his family providing unwavering support.

    Career

Åberg’s golfing career is a remarkable tale of rapid rise and consistent excellence.

His amateur career was stellar, highlighted by his time at Texas Tech University, where he dominated collegiate golf, winning eight tournaments, including consecutive Big 12 Conference Championships in 2022 and 2023.

Turning professional in June 2023, Åberg became the first player to earn PGA Tour status through the PGA Tour University program, bypassing traditional qualifying routes.

His professional debut came at the RBC Canadian Open, where he finished tied for 25th, and he quickly notched his first top-10 finish at the John Deere Classic.

Within months, Åberg claimed his first professional victory at the Omega European Masters on the European Tour in August 2023, followed by his maiden PGA Tour win at the RSM Classic in November 2023, tying the tour’s 72-hole scoring record at 29-under-par.

His rookie year also included a standout performance at the 2023 Ryder Cup, where he helped Europe secure victory.

In 2024, Åberg finished second at the Masters Tournament in his major debut and won the Genesis Invitational in February 2025, cementing his status as a rising star.

    Accolades

Åberg’s trophy case is already brimming with prestigious honors, reflecting his extraordinary talent across amateur and professional golf.

During his amateur career, he won the Ben Hogan Award in 2022 and 2023, recognizing him as the best collegiate player in the United States, a feat previously achieved only by Jon Rahm.

He also claimed the Haskins Award and Jack Nicklaus Award in 2023, sweeping the top NCAA honors, and finished atop the 2022–23 PGA Tour University rankings.

As a professional, Åberg has secured four career wins, including the Omega European Masters (2023), the RSM Classic (2023), and the Genesis Invitational (2025), with his RSM Classic victory earning him a record-tying score.

His runner-up finish at the 2024 Masters Tournament marked his best major result to date.

Åberg’s contribution to Europe’s 2023 Ryder Cup triumph further showcased his prowess, earning him praise as a “generational talent.”
