    Career

Keys’ tennis career is marked by a combination of early promise, significant milestones, and consistent performance at the highest levels of the sport.

Turning professional at just 14 years old in 2009, Keys quickly gained attention for her powerful game and aggressive playing style.

It wasn’t long before she started making waves on the WTA tour.

A significant moment in her early career was winning the 2014 Aegon International in Eastbourne, where she defeated Angelique Kerber, a top player, showcasing her potential to compete with the best.

In 2016, she entered the top 10 of the WTA rankings, a significant milestone that hadn’t been achieved by an American woman since Serena Williams in 1999.

Additionally, she has continued to be a consistent presence in the top rankings and a threat in major tournaments, solidifying her position as a leading player in American tennis.

Keys’ success can be attributed to her aggressive baseline game, characterized by a fast serve and a powerful forehand.
