Bus passengers using the Modern Coast coaches are now stranded in Arusha without any alternative means of transport after the bus company was forced to terminate its Dar-Es-Salaam journey due to the ongoing PSV strike in the whole of Tanzania.

According to passengers who sent us emails, the company dumped them in Arusha and then the bus drove away without giving them back their money after being threatened by other striking PSVs. The Modern Coast bus is registration number T549 DCY.

Kenyans who were in the bus are now requesting that they be assisted to get alternative means back home or to Dar as they didn’t carry any other money.

Modern Coast bus moved operations and registered most of its buses in Dar-es-salaam to escape strong scrutiny in kenya. The company is owned by a Mombasa business family.

Most of the other buses scheduled to depart for Dar-es-salaam developed a wait-and-see approach as they monitored the developments across the border.
