A NASA parliamentary candidate for Matuga Constituency, Kassim Sawa accidentally shot himself in the lower abdomen on Wednesday.

The Amani National Congress(ANC) parliamentary candidate shot himself while at the Moi International Airport.
According to Moi International Airport Deputy OCPD, Beatrice Kigalu, the pistol went off while Kassim was handing it over for safekeeping.
”He is a licensed firearm holder. It happened when he was giving out the firearm as required in the security procedures of the facility,” the OCPD noted.
Mr Kassim was rushed to Bomu Hospital where he is receiving treatment.
Sawa will be facing off with ODM’s Hassan Mwanyoha, Wiper’s Hassan Mwarora and Jubilee’s Mwalimu Degore in the August poll.
