The ODM party disciplinary committee has recommended that Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa her Mswambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori  and seven MCAs , six from Homabay county and one from Busia expelled from the party for failing to adhere to party lines.

The ODM Secretary genera Edwin Sifuna in a statement said that discipline within the party was of great  importance and members should adhere to the set code of conduct.

“Political Parties are accountable to the office of the Registrar of Political Parties which is the custodian of all political parties. Likewise, party members must at all times adhere to rules, regulations and policies of their respective parties. ODM is not a party that tolerates disorder and unruly behavior by her members,” he stated.

The committee recommended that the two law makers be expelled for gross misconduct  while the MCAs Hon. Dan Ochieng’ Were, Hon. Evans Dada Marieba, Hon. Julius Odhiambo Gaya, Hon. Geoffrey Onyango Juma, Hon. Paul Ongoro Wamunga and Hon. Joshua Okumu Nyabola (all members of the Homabay County Assembly) will be punished for violence, unruly behavior and disobeying party decisions.

The National Executive Council have asked the members to appear before them next year before a final decision is reached.

“The NEC shall invite the members recommended for expulsion to appear before it at a special NEC meeting to be held early next year prior to the final decision being taken,” the statement said.
