Citizen TV’s political affairs reporter, Francis Gachuri has refuted claims that ODM party’s Communications Director, Philip Etale was behind the attack on journalists at the Wiper party offices on Tuesday.
He says that Etale helped move him to safety despite reports from Dennis Itumbi and Leader of Majority in the Senate, Kipchumba Murkomen.
One more thing, it's NOT TRUE that @EtalePhilip urged on the youths to rough me up. He actually was instrumental in helping me to safety.

Gachuri together with other journos were attacked by goons while awaiting opposition leader, Raila Odinga’s announcement on the way forward for his supporters.
An NTV camera lady was slapped and Gachuri, roughed up. The journos were accused of being pro-Jubilee.

Etale says that Itumbi and Murkomen put him on trial online and portrayed him as a ‘bad man.’
The former Prime minister apologized to the journalists saying:
“I extend my apology specifically to Mr. Gachuri who was molested by some rowdy youth who were completely uninvited to the event. I have spoken to Mr. Wachira Waruru and apologised to him.”
