The National Police Service has declared APC Samuel Ndirangu Muchoki a deserter after he failed to report back to duty following his official leave. Muchoki, whose service number is 247569/2013040010, was attached to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (MTD Company).

According to an official notice dated June 9, 2025, signed by Commandant A.S.T.U., the officer had been on off-duty and was expected to resume work on May 27, 2025. However, he has not been seen or heard from since, and multiple efforts to trace him have proved unsuccessful.

The memo, circulated to all relevant departments and commands within the service, indicates that Muchoki has now been absent without leave for more than 10 days, violating police service regulations. As a result, he has been officially declared a deserter effective June 6, 2025, and his salary is to be stopped immediately.

Authorities have directed STAPOL Gatumbiro to visit the officer’s residence and arrest him should he be found. His details, including his residence in Gatumbiro sub-location, Nyandarua West sub-county, have been shared to aid in the search.

The National Police Service has urged the public and fellow officers to report any information that could lead to the apprehension of the missing officer.
