A cabinet reshuffle is looming before Easter as officers investigating the Arror and Kimwarer dam scandal  zero in on persons behind the loss of Sh21 billion.

Four cabinet secretaries have been questioned by officers over the scandal . An officer close to the investigations revealed to the Daily Nation that some of the cabinet secretaries, senior government officials and the officials from the  Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) will be charged for economic crimes.

The four are Treasury CS Henry Rotich, Water Cs Simon Chelagui who the DCI have listed as a person of interest in the saga, Agriculture CS, Mwangi Kiunjuri and Devolution CS, Eugene Wamalwa.

In a recent recent reshuffle, former sports CS Rashid Echesa exited from the ministry of sports after he was implicated in several scandals including being associated to fraudster Joseph Henry Waswa.

The President has publicly been calling out his cabinet secretaries on matters corruption. He recently called out Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri to ensure the payment of maize farmers after it was established that the money released was paid to unscrupulous business people instead of the actual farmers.

He said that  he won’t favor anyone in the fight against corruption. He said that the axe will fall even to his close political allies or even his family members.

The investigations on the dams have caused political tension within the ruling party with some legislators allied to Deputy President claiming that the fight against corruption was targeting their own.
