taxifyWith the demand for taxi rides across the country, Taxify has introduced an MPESA payment option that will allow their customers to pay directly.

Taxify now joins Little on the list of taxi companies that have incorporated the direct MPESA payment.

The move was made by the company in an attempt to draw more customers and ease methods of payment.

“We are always on the lookout on how to intensely localize the experience of our application across the cities we operate in. We take time to learn what works for each city and take extra steps to integrate a city’s culture into how the application works. Taxify is a lifestyle application and we are constantly seeking ways to incorporate it more easily into our users’ lives,” said City Manager for Taxify Kenya, Alex Mwaura.

According to the Communication Authority of Kenya, mobile payment transactions were estimated to be at Sh447 billion as of the third quarter of 2016.

Luckily for Taxify customers the MPESA payment option has been combined with the app so customers will be able to pay via the app and not have to switch in between.

At the moment it is only available on Apple iOS but the company will be availing it for Android very soon.
