    Uhuru’s Envoys That Lost Money During Their Stint As Cabinet Secretaries

    Former cabinet secretaries who were recently deployed to ambassadorial position were asked to declare their wealth in accordance to the Public Officer Ethics Act.

    It was a myth that some of the former ministers net worth decreased from the previous vetting exercise that was conducted by the parliamentary committee on vetting.

    A notable reduction was from former mining cabinet secretary Dan Kazungu whose net worth before joining cabinet was Sh100 million. During the last vetting as envoy to Tanzania he declared his Net worth to be Sh32 million shillings

    Former Agriculture Will Bett decreased his net worth by Sh 2million between 2015 and 2017. Before joining the cabinet he was at Sh 127 million, during the recent vetting he was at Sh 125 million shillings.

    Other former cabinet secretary however increased their net worth albeit by a reasonable margin. Cleopa Mailu who was the former Heath CS whose net worth increased from Sh 617  from Sh 615 shillings from 2015.

    Cleopa Maila ranked the highest  in net worth said that he accumulated his wealth as salary from his former employment at the Nairobi Hospital.

    Most of this former cabinet secretaries were  deployed to ambassadorial positions
